FutureFit Extension Activities
Adapt
After students make predictions for the stories using the worksheet, have students try changing the problem perspective from the main character to an alternate character in the story and relating the problem from that secondary character’s perspective. (Tip: use a second copy of the worksheet to record this perspective.)
Create
Have students create their own simple stories for their classmates, using different question prompts, cliffhangers, or even pages with just illustrations and no text. At the conclusion of the activity, and using another copy of the worksheet, have students should share their stories with partners or with the class so that students can practice story prediction with their partner's stories.
