Connect history and literature with the Boys of Wartime novels by Laurie Calkhoven. Students will experience the Siege of Boston in 1776, the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863, and the Nazi invasion of France in 1943 through a young boy's perspective. Common Core-aligned activities for close reading, collaborative conversations, research projects, and writing will enrich students' book study. This is an excellent series for studying the American Revolution, the Civil War, and World War II.
