Tip #1: Be patient
It’s easy to become frustrated or angry by “poor” student behavior. It’s also incredibly unproductive. Learning to practice patience makes a world of difference.
Over the course of my four years teaching, I’ve slowly come to realize that the underlying basis for solid classroom management isn’t a menacing voice, an over-abundance of rewards, or threats—it’s patience. In my first year of teaching, I was very quick to become frustrated or angry with my students who were misbehaving, which created the perfect power imbalance for the student.
