  • contributes actively in a group discussion of historical events, sharing many ideas and opinions.
  • clearly understands and can fully explain why historical events are relevant today.

Student:

  • gathers information from the website with some guidance.
  • writes a paragraph summarizing an historical event, though it may be a little too detailed.
  • contributes to a group discussion of historical events, sharing some ideas and opinions.
  • understands and can give some reasons why historical events are relevant today.

Developing

Student:

  • gathers information from the website with teacher or peer guidance.
  • writes some ideas about an historical event but doesn't really summarize it.
  • listens to a group discussion of historical events but is hesitant to share ideas or opinions.
  • can give one reason why historical events are relevant today.

Emerging

Student:

  • has difficulty finding or gathering information from the website.
  • does not write a summary of an historical event.
  • does not listen or contribute to a group discussion of historical events.
  • cannot explain why historical events are relevant today.
