- writes a paragraph summarizing an historical event, though it may be a little too detailed.
- contributes to a group discussion of historical events, sharing some ideas and opinions.
- understands and can give some reasons why historical events are relevant today.

2 | Developing Student: - gathers information from the website with teacher or peer guidance.
- writes some ideas about an historical event but doesn't really summarize it.
- listens to a group discussion of historical events but is hesitant to share ideas or opinions.
- can give one reason why historical events are relevant today.

1 | Emerging Student: - has difficulty finding or gathering information from the website.
- does not write a summary of an historical event.
