We bring in the New Year by watching “The Ball Drop” in Times Square. Read about the History of the Ball Drop and write down 3-5 interesting facts. Then, using foil, old broken CDs, glitter, or anything shiny, create your own ball using glue and construction paper. Attach your facts to your artwork.
Resolution Journal
The New Year is about a fresh start! Create a “New Year Goal Journal”. Use the prompts to help you set goals/resolutions for the New Year!
Say “Happy New Year!” in Other Languages
Look at Saying "Happy New Year!" Around the World. Choose 1-2 of the countries and learn how to say “Happy New Year” in their language. If you need help pronouncing it, use Google Translate. Next, look up how your chosen country celebrates the New Year. Create a poster on construction paper saying “Happy New Year” in the language you chose along with 3-5 facts about their New Year's traditions.
