Homemade playdough is easy (and fun!) to make! Save yourself some time and money at the craft store and try out these quick and easy playdough recipes using ingredients you probably already have in your pantry.

Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

• 1 cup water

• 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

• 1/2 cup salt • 1 tablespoon cream of tartar

• Food coloring

• Saucepan

• 1 cup flour

• Plastic gloves

• Food coloring

Instructions:

1. Combine water, oil, salt, cream of tartar, and food coloring in a saucepan and heat until warm.

2. Remove from heat and add flour.

3. Stir, then knead until smooth. The cream of tartar makes this dough last 6 months or longer, so resist the temptation to omit this ingredient if you don't have it on hand.

4. Separate the dough into several balls.

5. Put on your plastic gloves.

6. Add 3 or 4 drops of food coloring to each ball.

7. Knead the dough until the food coloring is blended. Add more food coloring for more vivid colors.

8. You’re ready to get creative!
