Objectives
- Students will practice making public presentations of basic Spanish language grammar concepts.
Materials
- Over-head transparencies
- Computer-generated hand-outs
- Posters
- Chalkboard
Procedures
Each group selects a grammar topic (ex. present progressive).
They are to research the topic (during free periods, own time, or can be given class time).
They are to learn the concept well enough to later teach the concept to the rest of their class (with the teacher's supervision) using over-head transparencies, etc.
They create the homework assignments as well as the quizzes that will be administered to that class.
After the team teaches the whole class, another class period can be used for each of the members of the team to head smaller review groups, where one "teacher" prepares her/his group for the coming quiz (as in study groups). In addition to grammar concepts, the groups can select a vocabulary theme (food and drink; family and social relations; body parts and clothing; sports and leisure activities; government, etc.) for which they are also responsible for giving the "Lessons."
