The My Life as a . . . series is about the adventures of a twelve-year-old with a reading disability who draws his vocabulary words in order to learn them. These Common Core-aligned reading and writing handouts will help students examine the connection between visual and textual information, as well as friendship, special needs, physical disabilities, and community. The curriculum guide includes a service learning plan, writing graphic organizers, vocabulary building exercises, a worksheet on similes, and a comic strip activity.
