About Dan

Dan is a teacher, author, and the owner of History For Humans, which creates resources, curriculum, and courses for history teachers. Dan taught at a Title-1 public school on the Big Island of Hawaii for eleven years.  Although he still teaches part-time, he now spends most of his time with History For Humans. In 2017 he took a cross-country sabbatical visiting schools and collaborating with amazing teachers around the nation and in 2020 he was named the Hawai’i History Teacher of the Year.
