About Steve

Steve Messier is an expert in Social Emotional Learning (SEL), with 9 years’ experience as a Behavioral Interventionist and having held his current position as the Director of Student Affairs at a high school in Vermont for over a decade. Additionally, Steve is a freelance curriculum developer who creates SEL lessons and resources for students of high school age, and he is the founder of Social Emotional Learning of Vermont, which focuses on the promotion and implementation of SEL, particularly in non-traditional school settings. Steve is also one of the founding members of SEL4VT, a state-wide organization that is part of the SEL4US national network aiming to raise awareness of the benefits of SEL.
