Different parts of the world have different weather conditions. For example, today it may be sunny and warm in Sydney, Australia, but cold and snowy in Milwaukee, WI.

Go to the Weather Underground U.S. Temperature website (http://www.wunderground.com/US/Region/US/2xTemperature.html), look at the map, and make your own weather report.

1. The key below the map relates temperature to color on the map. For example, bright red indicates a temperature of 80-90° F.

What color indicates a temperature of 10-20° F?

2. What parts of the U.S. have the warmest temperatures today? How warm are they?


3. Imagine that you live in one of these "hot spots." What could you do outside today? What kind of clothing would you need to wear?



4. What parts of the U.S. have the coldest temperatures today? How cold are they?



5. Imagine that you live in one of these "cold spots." What could you do outside today? What kind of clothing would you need to wear?



6. Type "Australia" in the box at the upper left-hand corner of the page. Click "Find Forecast." What's the coldest temperature in Australia today?



7. What's the warmest temperature in Australia today?



8. Would you rather live in a warm climate or a cold climate? Why? What outdoor activities do you enjoy?
