History of Veterans Day
Veterans Day began as Armistice Day, which commemorated the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. Today, Veteran’s Day honors all of America’s veterans for their patriotism, their service, and their sacrifice for their country. Despite an attempt to move the date of Veterans Day when the Uniform Holiday Bill was signed, it was returned to its original date and continues to be observed on November 11 each year.
