These Kwanzaa student choice math activities for elementary students are perfect for celebrating and learning about Kwanzaa principlesin your classroom!

They are great as extension or early-finisher activities, or given as take-home independent practice work.

This packet includes a choice board of 9 Kwanzaa math activities, plus all of the links and Kwanzaa printables needed to complete the activities.

Students can choose from activities like:

Kwanzaa Math Game

Kwanzaa is all about celebrating! Many children play games during this time. Design your own math board game. Create at least 20 problems to solve and draw and color your own game board and pieces.

Design a Mkeka

A mkeka is a special mat used in Kwanzaa celebrations. Using strips of paper, weave your own mkeka. Create a color pattern to follow.

Zawadi Shapes

Zawadi are gifts that are given and received during Kwanzaa. Using a piece of paper, design your own gifts. Research which colors represent Kwanzaa. Your picture should include 4 gifts in the shape of a rectangle, 2 square, 1 trapezoid, 1 parallelogram, 1 oval, and 1 in the shape of a rhombus.
