Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah)

The sites below provide resources to help your students understand the large-scale atrocity of the Holocaust, including the people who were affected and involved. Since the subject matter is fundamentally disturbing, individual teachers must decide which material is appropriate for their students. To help you in that effort, we have listed high-quality sites that do not contain photos of violence or dead victims.

For guidelines for teaching about the Holocaust, plus links to additional related lesson plans, teacher guides, and information, see Holocaust Resources. We also have lesson plans for three outstanding books: Number the Stars (grades 3-8), Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl (grades 4-8), and Milkweed (grades 5-12).
